The first forum of the Economic Forum for Sustainable Development was held in Cairo during the period from the first to the third of April of the current year, with the participation and presence of members of the forum and a group of knowledge and intellectual institutions. Yemen is in the current conditions, and after the war ended, and the system of challenges, opportunities, solutions and the roadmap was a crisis accompanying the specialized teams, as these four visions were discussed, and discussions started from objective facts that represent promising introductions to sustainable development in Yemen, including:
The spatial geography of Yemen, the multiplicity of its natural forms, the extension of its coasts, up to 2,500 km, and the number of islands located in its territorial waters, which number 300 islands
The demographic depth, youth youth and horizontal professional capabilities, which together represent features on the path of development
The Yemeni diaspora presence and the practical and scientific experiences that it entails, as well as financial and investment reserves
The decentralized option for the coming federal state, which is consistent with the objectivity and necessity of decentralization in various aspects of contemporary life
The belief that the regularity of the concepts of private interest and the relationship with the human other are based on partnership and mutual benefit
Reconsidering the traditional stereotype of the relationship between the public and private sectors and the consequent consolidation of modern conceptualizations of the pioneering role of the private sector in development and development.
Historic work culture in Yemen and its unique relationship to sustainable development
And based on these introductions and extensive discussions, the forum came out with the following recommendations:
Practical and investment focus on the alternative economy in the fields of energy, construction, services, distance education and other aspects available in parallel with the world of technology
The contribution of the Yemeni and Arab private sector to achieving the development vision for Yemen
Establishing a basic strategy for reconstruction to achieve sustainable development as a practical road map for the future, taking into account field transformations and internal, regional and international developments.
– Work to establish a national contribution fund in accordance with the best practices in this field and in consultation with the relevant authorities
Special attention to the services economy in Yemen, in line with the unique geological structure and the widening spatial link with the Arab and African neighbors, with a focus on liberalizing and developing land, sea and air transport systems.
– The practical and accelerated initiation of the development of the maritime economy parallel to the Yemeni coasts extending far from the military contact areas
Forming a committee to follow up on available statistical databases for reconstruction and investment and towards their development, taking into account the experiences of international institutions in this regard, especially German ones.
The launch of a digital educational platform concerned with the academic dissemination of knowledge about the Yemeni economy from epistemological perspectives related to economic sciences
Launching economic training programs through Arab and international bodies, companies and institutions
– To initiate practical preparations for an investment conference on Yemen under the name of (Hope) in coordination with the Arab Federation of Chambers of Commerce and to secure the participation and support of the sponsors
– Preparing for the second forum during the coming period, and that it discusses a specialized title related to sustainable development in Yemen.
